Jennifer joined Petra Academy fall of 2021 as the Student Advisor. She is a proud native of Wisconsin and graduated from Winona State University with a B.S in Elementary Education and Fine Arts. After college, she taught second grade in Minnesota for a year and then joined AmeriCorps and worked to implement service learning into the curriculum in Seattle schools. She then began working in higher education, first as an adviser at The Art Institute of Seattle, then at the University of Washington in The School of Music, and later at Montana State University in The Allen Yarnell Center of Student Success in the summer of 2018.
Jennifer fell in love with Bozeman after spending a summer in the Big Timber area, and when her husband was offered a job in the area, jumped at the chance to move their family to Bozeman. Jennifer, her husband, and her daughter love the outdoors and spend much of their time on their hobby ranch raising her six beloved chickens and five bunnies. In their free time, they love exploring all that Montana has to offer from the open road, the trail, and their camper. Jennifer also loves to work in her garden, hiking, cross-country skiing, reading, and anything in the sunshine. Jennifer feels fortunate to be at Petra and able to do what she loves most — teaching young minds, working and connecting with students and guiding them towards their educational, spiritual, and life goals.
